Get Yourself Ready for Spring
29 Jan 2008
This Spring, healthy skin is in fashion for everyone—not just older women. Men and children have special skin needs too. Here are some quick tips that can be applied to everyone, regardless of gender and skin type.
- Sunscreen: Sun protection is a must-have for everyone in the family in order to prevent sunburns and aging. A daily moisturizer with a built-in sunscreen should be on the vanity of every bathroom for accessibility. The broadest spectrum daily sunscreen is—at the time of this post—manufactured by LaRoche Posay and is called Anthelios.
- Laser Hair Removal: If you’re going to be spending this Summer at the beach, you may want to consider Laser Hair Removal. All skin types can be treated, but individuals with darker skin tones should mention this when scheduling to be sure the laser or light source being used for their treatment is best for their skin. Treatment times can vary, depending on the area being treated. Most lasers will permanently reduce hair 80-90%, although touch up treatments may be required annually. Laser treatments can also be done on all body areas, which means no more back hair for men, and no more bumps in the bikini area for women.
- Product Adjustment: When spring cleaning your home, be sure to clean up your vanity. Throw out products that are old or no longer effectively treating your concerns. Just as we find the need to change clothing and hair styles with age, skin care should also be adjusted accordingly. Products that worked last year may not be addressing your needs this year.
- General health: Finally, enjoy your life. Make time each day for yourself. Eat well. Give love to those around you. Take a day of rest each week and try and keep the same time each day to rise and to go to sleep. You’ll develop a rhythm and then you’ll be able to accomplish all of those New Year’s Resolutions that might have started collecting dust by now.
