In just minutes, a medical professional uses a tiny needle to inject hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body. They place it in areas of volume loss, use it to lift sagging skin, and fill in lines and wrinkles. Once the filler is injected, patients may be able to detect lumps and bumps under the skin in the treatment area, this is perfectly normal and typically not visible on the surface of the skin. Over the next several weeks, the hyaluronic acid molecules in the filler will bond with the surrounding tissue resulting in a smoother feel.

In general, filler is an instant gratification treatment. When you leave the office you will see about 80% improvement, and over the course of 2-4 weeks the filler will bond to the tissue around it and reveal the final result.

Voluma is indicated to last up to 2 years. There is an enzyme in our body that naturally breaks down the hyaluronic acid molecules in filler over time, which is why it doesn’t last forever.

With any injectable there is a chance that you may experience minor swelling and bruising for up to two weeks. This is not typically something that will require you to take time off work or change your lifestyle, but you may want to strategically schedule the appointment if you have any major upcoming event.

Yes, it is. Botox is used to treat expression lines and wrinkles resulting from muscular contractions. Fillers such as Juvederm® ( XC, Ultra XC, Voluma, Volbella, Belotero Balance®, Restylane® Lyft) restore volume to deeper wrinkles and areas where there has been a loss of collagen. We determine the type of filler to use depending on the area we are treating.
