Botox® is an injectable treatment. You will experience some minor, brief discomfort (like a pinch) at the moment of treatment.

In just minutes, with little to no discomfort, a medical professional uses a tiny needle to inject Botox® into the area of concern. The treated muscles start to relax within 1 to 2 days, and reach their maximum degree of relaxation within 2 weeks.
Typically, you’ll start seeing results within a couple of days.
Outcomes typically last for 3-4 months before needing to be re-applied.

There is no true downtime associated with Botox®, however you should remain upright for 4 hours and should not participate in vigorous exercise for 1 hour following treatment.
Yes, it is. Botox® is used to treat expression lines and wrinkles resulting from muscular contractions. Fillers (such as Juvederm XC, Juvederm Ultra XC, Belotero, Restylane and Restylane Lyft) restore volume to deeper wrinkles and areas where there has been a loss of collagen.
Both injectables are a type of botulinum type A used to relax the muscles that cause frown lines and other over active muscles of the face, like forehead lines and crows feet.
Both injectables have been in use for years (Dysport in Europe only until it was introduced in America in 2009) both have a high safety profile, and both must be injected every 3-6 months. Both show similar efficacy and side effects, and in most double-blind clinical studies both the patient and the doctor were unable to tell the results apart.
Dysport is a smaller-sized molecule so its dosage and pricing is different than Botox®. Dysport may not last quite as long (duration of efficacy) but has a quicker onset (2-5 days vs 4-7 days for Botox®). Dysport diffuses more (spreads to a wider area). This is an advantage in some areas of the face and a disadvantage in others. You may need more Dysport to get the same result as Botox. These are being studied.
