Belotero FAQ’s

Get answers to your most pressing questions about this specific treatment. Here are a few that we hear most often:

HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR MY SKIN BEFORE AND AFTER MY TREATMENT?
How long is a Belotero appointment?

Like other filler treatments, a typical appointment lasts between 30 to 45 minutes. The procedure itself lasts 15 minutes on average, but your medical provider will want to spend time discussing your desired outcomes, as well as what you should expect in the days following treatment.

Will it hurt?

Belotero is an injectable treatment. You will experience some minor, brief discomfort at the moment of injection. Timeless ensures comfort at every step by employing specialized techniques before, during and after your treatment.

Is Beletero safe?

Yes, when administered by experienced medical professionals who have a clear understanding of your medical history. We choose to use hyaluronic acid fillers because of their low side effect profile. While we expect that you will love your results, patients can be reassured knowing that, once injected, the filler can be dissolved as desired via a simple medical procedure.

What is the downtime?

With any injectable there is a chance that you may experience minor swelling and bruising for up to two weeks. This is not typically something that will require you to take off work or change your lifestyle, but you may want to strategically schedule the appointment if you have a major upcoming event.

What should I expect?

In just minutes, with little to no discomfort, a physician or experienced Nurse Practioner uses a tiny needle to inject a substance called hyaluronic acid into the area of concern.

When will I start seeing results?

Filler is one of those instant gratification treatments. You should see a noticeable improvement before you leave the office.

How long does it last?

Typically our filler providers inject patients between 6-9 months and two years depending on the filler used and the application. We have also noticed that over time, our patients need less filler to maintain the results they have achieved because they are simply “topping off” the reservoir vs. filling it up.

How much does it cost?

Treatments are highly customized based on area, concern and person. For the most accurate quote we recommend sitting down with one of our medical professionals to talk about your desired outcome. Pricing is done per syringe, and fillers for different applications have varying prices and longevity. The cost of fillers range between $450- $1,000 per syringe, and typically, multiple syringes are used to achieve best results.

Is Belotero different from Botox?

Yes, it is. Botox is used to treat expression lines and wrinkles resulting from muscular contractions. Fillers (such as Juvederm® XC, Juvederm® Ultra XC, Belotero Balance®, Restylane® Lyft) restore volume to deeper wrinkles and areas where there has been a loss of collagen. We determine the type of filler to use depending on the area we are filling.

WHAT SKINCARE PRODUCTS PAIR BEST WITH FILLER?

The following medical-grade products will help to prolong, encourage, and promote the life of your treatments.

SkinMedica® HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator: This topical, hyaluronic acid product works in the same way as a dermal filler, encouraging your body’s natural collagen to rebuild itself. HA5 contains five forms of hyaluronic acid, a water-loving protein that helps to maintain the skin’s moisture, elasticity and resilience. HA5  is different from a moisturizer because it penetrates deeper into the epidermis rather than sitting on the top of the skin. This enhances your filler results.

SkinMedica TNS Illuminating Eye Cream: This lightweight cream nourishes and strengthens the delicate eye area to amplify the results of filler for dark circles and bags under the eyes. A formula of growth factors, peptides and other anti-aging ingredients help repair, brighten the skin around the eyes and further minimize the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and dark circles.

Obagi Elastiderm Eye Complete Complex Serum: This serum helps to replenish elasticity and support collagen for tighter, smoother-looking skin. It also helps stimulate the production of healthy skin cells and contains caffeine to improve the appearance of under-eye puffiness. Available in office.

SkinMedica HA5 Smooth & Plump Lip System: After plumping the lips with Juvéderm Volbella, continue to treat the delicate skin topically and on a daily basis. This two-step system smooths fine lines around the lips while further plumping their appearance, enhancing definition and your bringing out your lips’ natural rosiness.

How Does Belotero Work?

As we age, our skin begins to lose naturally occurring components such as collagen and elastin, leaving skin more prone to develop etched-in lines and wrinkles. Belotero is made of hyaluronic acid(HA), a naturally occurring substance in our bodies that acts as a nutrient to keep our skin moist, smooth, and elastic. Belotero not only plumps up, hydrates and fills where volume has been lost, it also encourages the body’s own natural collagen production to increase.
