In a conversation with Dr Carol Clinton at the end of 2019, she shared the emerging trends that she saw coming in 2020 and her belief that what is old is being made new again. At that time, she noted that “Advances in technology, along with an increased understanding of the body have added to what we already know to be effective in aesthetic medicine, and lets us do so much more.”

One of those emerging trends that Dr. Clinton pointed to is the use of facial fillers. While facial fillers have been used for decades, anatomists study of the structure of the face and body allows a better understanding of the muscle layers and fat pads and how the skin lies on top of them.
