Cover Up In Style
Beach Trends Your Skin Will Love
In my teens, twenties, and as much as I hate to admit it, even in my thirties, I was a big sun worshiper. The more tan I was , the better I felt. Now—looking back—I wonder what I was thinking. These days, I never leave the house without sunscreen, and when it’s beach time, I take extra care.
I want all of you to know that it’s easy to be careful in the sun and still look fashionable. Here are some of beach trends I’ll be sporting this summer.
Full Cover Ups: we all know what it feels like when our skin starts telling us to take a break from the sun. You don’t have to go back to the hotel; there are plenty of fun, bright tunics in style this summer. Los Angeles based designer Trina Turk blends retro with a more polished look. This fun tunic is best complimented by two things: the smell of your SPF 50 and the carefree confidence that comes from knowing you are stylish and protected from the sun.
For the Kids: Founded by a loving mother and cancer survivor, Cabana Life is a company that creates beachwear specifically to provide SPF protection. With the kids running around in the sea and sand, it can be difficult to make sure no one is getting burnt. Relax a little easier on the beach knowing your kids are in protective gear like this adorable terry cloth jumper which promises SPF 50+ protection.
Floppy Hats: Of course, the iconic floppy beach hat is timeless. Brigitte Bardot wore it best, don’t you think? When looking to purchase one of these, don’t skimp on the diameter. For chic coverage, the Summer Staw Hat found at J.Crew or this one by the San Diego Hat Company (found at Bloomingdale’s) are as classy as they come.
