A Tisket, a Basket … That Promises Great Skin
For Patient Care Coordinator Mary Beth, it’s been a 27-year dedication to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio.
“We were so young,” she said. “We got involved before we had children.”
She said a friend talked her and her husband into volunteering for the organization with a little bit of trepidation.
“We’re 23! We can barely take care of ourselves!”
Her misgivings quickly faded and the personal rewards from volunteering were wonderful, she said.
From Volunteer to Parent
Mary Beth soon had her own kids but got such joy out of helping out, she continued her relationship with the organization that is one of the largest – if not THE largest – Big Brothers Big Sisters groups in the country.
This year is no exception and Mary Beth and her husband will be donating jewelry for an auction slated to be held Saturday during the sold-out Taste of Class for Kids.
Dr. Carol Clinton and Timeless Skin Solutions are getting in on the act this year with a donation of their own.
A Total Facial Rejuvenation Package worth more than $2,000 including Latisse, Juvederm, Botox and Obagi products will be up for bid during a silent auction at the event.
Here’s Why We’re Involved
According to the Big Brothers Big Sisters website,
“Children need adult friends to help guide them through life’s many obstacles. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio has a rich history of nurturing friendships between caring adult volunteers and children.
“For 75 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has made a difference in the lives of thousands of Central Ohio youth through its mentoring and camping programs.”
