A chemical peel uses a chemical solution to exfoliate the skin’s upper layers. Dr. Clinton and her staff use chemical peels to diminish both age and sun spots, as well as treat mild, moderate and severe acne and enlarged pores.
Dr. Clinton and her staff will determine the specific chemicals that will be used for your peel based on your skin concerns and the results you would like to see.
During treatment, Dr. Clinton or a member of her staff will cleanse the face before applying a topical solution. Many patients experience a mild stinging sensation that quickly subsides.
After treatment, the face will feel tight and appear red, similar to a mild sunburn. Depending on the type of peel, some patients experience mild, moderate or significant peeling 3 to 5 days after treatment.
After one chemical peel, most patients notice an immediate improvement in skin’s texture. Generally results are cumulative and maximum benefits are seen with a series of chemical peels.
Do not pick or peel the skin because it can delay healing or cause scarring. See complete treatment instructions.
