A chemical peel is great for anyone who wants their skin to look better. Chemical peels work by using a solution to exfoliate the skin’s top layer. It is an effective treatment for many skin issues, including smoothing fine lines and wrinkles and treating acne, brown spots and pores.

Dr. Clinton and her staff will determine the specific combination of chemicals that will be used for your peel based on your skin concerns and the results you would like to see.

How it Works/What to Expect

During treatment, Dr. Clinton or a member of her staff cleanse the face before applying a topical solution. Many patients experience a mild stinging sensation that quickly subsides.

After treatment, the face will feel tight and appear red, similar to a mild sunburn. Depending on the type of peel, some patients experience mild, moderate or significant peeling 3 to 5 days after treatment.

After one chemical peel, most patients notice an immediate improvement in skin’s texture. Generally, results are cumulative so maximum benefits are seen with a series of chemical peels.
