Facial fillers are injectables used to restore volume, rejuvenate the skin or improve overall appearance. Dr. Clinton typically uses facial fillers to treat eyes, lines/wrinkles and scars.
Dr. Clinton is at the highest level of injectors for facial fillers, making her more skilled than most.
Since the skin under the eye naturally loses elasticity and thins with age, Dr. Clinton uses hyaluronic acid facial fillers such as Restylane® or Juvederm™ to plump up the hollow area under the eye and diminish the appearance of dark circles.
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that provides volume and hydration.
Patients choose facial fillers over surgical treatments because they are less expensive, provide immediate results and have limited downtime.
During the procedure, Dr. Clinton uses a thin needle to inject a small amount of facial filler just under the skin in the area that needs correction.
For most patients, the procedure causes no more than minimal discomfort. In fact, patients who previously have found the procedure painful often find the experience much more pleasurable in our office.
Dr. Clinton uses a variety of approaches to minimize discomfort some of which include applying a topical numbing cream at the site of the injection, as well as injecting a numbing agent along with the facial filler.
Expect mild redness and swelling for the first few hours following the procedure.
Do not manipulate the treated area. See complete treatment instructions.
