Restylane® is a new
and exciting hyaluronic acid injectable, in the form of a crystal-clear
gel, that are injected in tiny amounts with a thin needle
superficially into the skin to smooth out wrinkles and to enhance lips by
creating volume. It works well on the lips, smile lines around the mouth and
forehead area. Restylane® is safe, effective and off the shelf. Restylane is
bio-engineered and not an animal based product. It comes from natural hyaluronic
acid which
is found as lubricating fluid in joints and
in connective tissue. It is gradually degraded by the body's mechanism and
disappears without any residue. It does not require any allergy or skin test
prior to injection. hese fillers
are very promising as the research so far has shown them to be the longest
lasting fillers. Restylane lasts 6-9 months which is 3 times longer than
traditional collagen and has a 6 year safety history with over a million

| Perlane® has
been approved by the FDA as a new wrinkle filler for the treatment
of moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles.
Made by the same manufacturer as Restylane, they both
contain hyaluronic acid. The primary difference between Restylane
and Perlane is that the hyaluronic acid gel particles in Perlane are
larger than those found in Restylane allowing for a better result
for the treatment of deeper folds and wrinkles especially in the area
of the nose and mouth. Perlane's larger gel particles can reach the
deep layers of the skin, offering better volume and lifting.
Perlane's effects
last for about six months and can be layered with Restylane for an
excellent result. |
