National Rosacea Awareness Month

Did you know April is National Rosacea Awareness Month?  This month we are dedicated to helping you understand what rosacea looks like and the ways we can treat it.

What does rosacea look like? Have you ever noticed when you drink red wine or eat spicy foods your skin can look inflamed? Although the exact cause is unknown, rosacea is an inflammatory skin condition that causes the blood vessels in the face to dilate.  Rosacea can be exacerbated by alcohol, spicy foods, exercise, anxiety, or anything else that triggers inflammation in the skin.

Here at Timeless we offer different treatments and products to reduce the redness, inflammation, and embarrassment that can be associated with rosacea.  Our very own Dr. Lynne Eaton has experienced this skin condition and has a few recommendations for you:

What are the treatments and how do they work?

Genesis/IPL – IPL promotes collagen production, helps reduce the appearance of redness, fine lines, and reveals fresher, younger looking skin. Laser Genesis targets pore size, redness, and fine lines. These two lasers often work in conjunction with each other, and complement the effectiveness of one another.

Photodynamic Therapy – Photodynamic therapy (PDT) using Levulan® improves skin texture, skin tone, and treats a variety of skin concerns, including redness, discoloration and even sun-related freckles.

Curelight – Curelight treatments are helpful because a special light is placed over the face for 20 minutes which helps to decrease the inflammation and redness associated with rosacea flare-ups.

What products can I use to help my redness and rosacea?
